The G2 GPRS is a replacement for a standard intruder digital communicator or can be fitted as new. The unit uses GPRS-IP as it’s primary path, with PSTN as it’s secondary backup.

The G2 dual path uses two methods of alarm signalling. The first method is GPRS and is incredibly fast and secure, the ARC will receive a signal within seconds of an alarm activation. It’s second path (which is used as a backup) incorporates PSTN, both of these signal paths are constantly monitored.
If either signal path is damaged deliberately, or develops a fault, the ARC will be alerted, and the emergency services or an authorised keyholder can be notified immediately.
The G2DualPath allows dual path signalling to be incorporated into the majority of alarm systems and is suitable for use with most manufacturers control panels.
The unit is suitable for use in installations compliant to PD6662:2004 / prEN50131-1:2004 security grade 2, environmental class II.
Dual path signalling is achieved using the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) and PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) to communicate with the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC).
The unit uses the Vodafone UK GPRS network as it’s primary signalling path and a wired PSTN telephone line as it's back-up secondary signalling path.
The unit constantly monitors both communication paths, the wireless (GPRS) and the wired telephone line (PSTN). In the event of a failure or a line being cut, the fault is immediately reported to the ARC over the alternative path.
