The GSM Communicator provides a total remote monitoring solution. The unit can be connected to CCTV or Intruder Alarm systems to provide:

A system overview showing how the GSM communicator connects to both the ARC and sends text messages to mobile phones.

Text messaging for devices

A mobile phone displaying a sample text message from the GSM communicator

The GSM Communicator will transmit a text message to up to 4 phone numbers, informing them of an alert triggered by a connected device, e.g. an alarm system or DVR. After receiving the text message the end-user can then control the 2 inbuilt relays via a password protected text command. This will allow remote activation of any connected equipment.

  • 8 separate inputs
  • 2 text messages per input
  • Send text messages to up to 4 phone numbers
  • Preset text messages for CCTV & intruder alarm systems
  • No extra receiving equipment or software is required
  • 2 relay outputs that can be remotely operated by text message (password protected)
  • Engineer customisable text messages

Secondary signalling path for alarm receiving centres

The GSM Communicator provides a cost effective signalling path to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) . The unit uses industry standard protocols and transmits via Fast Format. This makes it ideal as a “stand-alone” communicator for sites with no telephone line or as a backup in the event of line failure.
  • Uses standard Fast Format protocol
  • Can send a fast format message to an ARC at the same time as a text message to a keyholder
  • Can be used as a backup signalling device
  • 100% compatible with current intruder alarm equipment
  • Can be used in conjunction with grade 3 compliment systems

Listen & talk to site

The GSM Communicator incorporates an audio channel to allow an end user to listen in and talk to the site from a mobile phone anywhere in the world. The unit supports up to 4 microphones connected in parallel. For security reasons the unit will only allow access to this function after a text alert. When a text message is received displaying an alert the end user can phone the unit to activate the microphones on site. If any suspicious noises are heard it is then possible to make a announcement over a connected Broadcast Unit. Simply press a key on your mobile phone to use this function when listening to events at the site.

The device supports up to 8 high or low input triggers, and a single analogue input. (All clearly marked). The device can support up to 4 microphones & 4 speakers, wired in parallel. Programming the system can be performed either by phone, or more easily using the USB programming kit, which allows you to repeatedly use the same configuration settings on every device you install!
