- Industry statistics show that one of the major single contributors to false alarms, and the subsequent loss of the unique reference number and police response, results from the unjustifiable activation of PA Buttons.
- The consequence of losing Police Response is obviously an increased exposure to risk for both the premises and its employees.
- It can involve a capital expenditure of thousands of pounds to regain a URN which could be easily lost again should these false PA activations continue.
The AV60 Audio Verification system has been widely used for the last 10 years in the security industry to identify whether an alarm is a false activation or genuine.
The AV60-PA verification system has been developed to provide a cost effective PA-Police Response solution to support staff against the risk of violence and, in the long term, provide additional cost benefits.

Employees make use of the system by using a PA Button as a Request for Assistance button. This initiates a call to either an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) or by dialling the designated telephone number(s). The system now waits for the ARC to dial in or the call to be answered. The unit plays a "Site ID" message before it switches to "live audio" being heard through the unit that was triggered or through microphones installed throughout the premises. The ARC can assess and review the situation occurring by listening "live", choosing to listen to the recorded audio or hold a two way conversation, via a PA Verifier Unit, before deciding on the next course of action.

The simple modular design of the AV60-PA Verification System provides a tailor-made solution to accommodate a wide range of individual requirements. In conjunction with the Base unit, the three versatile methods of activation enable a system to be created to suit any property irrespective of size or layout. All methods of activation are totally compatible with the base unit and the system can be configured to incorporate any or all of them in various combinations.
Base unit
- Uses the existing phone line and can be used in conjunction with "Redcare".
- Can be used over IP Networks (using the IP Adaptor)
- Fast format signalling to ARC or direct dial to the Guarding company / Guardhouse etc.
- Verbal site confirmation on connection.
- Can be controlled using standard DTMF tones to :-
• Listen to "live" audio from all Verifier units / microphones.
• Listen to "live" audio from a selected Verifier unit or mic. channel
• Listen to "stored" audio from a selected Verifier unit or mic. channel.
• Hold a two-way conversation via a Selected Verifier unit.
• Broadcast a message through all Verifier units simultaneously.
Verifier Unit
- One or more fixed PA buttons can be connected to each unit to activate and request assistance.
- The PA Verifier units are mounted in the areas around the PA buttons and are constantly recording the audio in that area.
- When a PA button is pressed the corresponding PA Verifier stores the audio detected 15 seconds before and 15 seconds after the activation.
- Up to 16 units can be connected per system.
- Each unit has full duplex, 2 way speech capability to enable communication to take place totally hands free if and when required.
RF / PA system
- Portable "key fobs" to request assistance by initiating a call and allowing access to the Control and Verifier Units for remote monitoring and assessment.
- Up to 1000 key fobs per receiver with a range of 80m
